Hyundai Motor Europe top 10 news stories of 2016

With a host of product launches, 2016 has been one of Hyundai's most exciting years. The All-New IONIQ, for example is influenced by factors as diverse as eco-friendly driving and vacuum robots.

This has been a big year for Hyundai Motor. Some major strategy decisions were made to shape the future of the company, from setting up the Project IONIQ Lab to assess the future of mobility and drive future innovation, to the company's commitment to green driving with the launch of the IONIQ. Hyundai Motor Group also announced that they plan to launch 28 eco-friendly models by 2020. Back in September, Hyundai Motor unveiled its latest N concept with the world premiere of the RN30 at the 2016 Paris Motor Show. The RN30’s power is supplied by a high-performance 2.0-litre turbocharged engine, which was inspired by motorsport and based on the New Generation Hyundai i30.

8. Record-breaking: new milestones for Hyundai Motor fuel cell rally


This feature charted Hyundai Motor’s epic drive from Bergen to Bolzano with the ix35 Fuel Cell. This record-breaking journey was the longest fuel cell trip through Europe, using only hydrogen filling stations. The car also set a new speed record for a fuel cell vehicle, clocking 170 km/h when it arrived in Germany.
