The Hyundai i30 N was launched in 2017 and has sold over 26,700 units in Europe since then.

In addition to winning numerous awards, including the Auto Bild Sports Car of the Year in 2018 and 2019 and the 2020 Sport Auto Award, Hyundai’s N models have inspired a community of fans known as N-thusiasts.

Following its world premiere in September this year, the new i30 N has generated even more positive reviews in the press, with its engaging driving characteristics and responsive DCT gearbox drawing praise. The latest generation of Hyundai’s racetrack-capable hot hatch brings an enhanced design as well as more safety and connectivity features. The new i30 N further builds on the success of its predecessor, offering more lightweight materials resulting in more agility and better handling. It is also the first Hyundai model in Europe to feature a high-performance eight-speed wet-type dual clutch transmission, known as N DCT.

Here is what the press have said about the all-new i30 N so far:

German Auto Zeitung wrote: “During our first test drive in the prototype, the driving behaviour proves to be virtually fool-proof, and yet there is no room for boredom.”

This is just about the most comprehensively massive mid-life tweak you’re ever likely to see a hot hatch receive. From behind the wheel, the power delivery feels completely fresh. The new i30N is less peaky, generating maximum punch lower down the rev range, and maintaining it for longer… Basically, it’s a bit quicker in every gear at any revs, which makes it feel a lot faster overall.

Autocar echoed: “Minor revisions to the Hyundai i30 N take what is already a very entertaining hot hatch and improve it. Worthy minor revisions, make an already engaging hot hatch even more fun and broadly engaging. Thankfully, these revisions leave [the] character unchanged.”

French magazine Le Point noted: “With real quality and a great price, this i30 N is one of those that will make condescending smiles freeze.” They continued, “The price-performance ratio promises to be one of the best on the market.”

Italian wire service ANSA wrote that the i30 N was “almost born for the track.” The writers took pleasure in summarizing all of its pristine features, writing: “In particular, the new design, new wheels, lightweight N seats and the new eight-speed dual clutch gearbox make the Hyundai N experience sportier than ever before.”

And Spanish newspaper Marca noted especially how the i30 N “combines distinction with sportsmanship.” They praised the i30 N’s new technology, writing: “the driving data is stored so that the user can improve their performance.” The writers continued to describe the new i30 N as “a car that makes those who still feel the passion for driving fall in love.”
