Hyundai H350 Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) debuts as service van at the Monte Carlo Rally, supporting the Hyundai Motorsport team.
At 377 kilometres in length with 16 stages and fast-changing weather conditions, the recent 84th Monte Carlo Rally was not only a first tough test for Hyundai Motor’s New Generation i20 World Rally car, but also a great debut for the H350 service van in the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC). The first Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) Hyundai Motor has launched in the big van segment in Europe, the H350 is now proving its durability and practicality in the rallies. And the Monte Carlo Rally was just the beginning of a championship in which Hyundai Motorsport has started its third season in style with a podium finish. The Belgian Thierry Neuville steered the team’s new car to third place overall.

Clearly defined rules

“The H350 is now part of Hyundai Motorsport’s on-event fleet allowing the team to carry spare parts, materials and tools to the European rounds of the WRC, sometimes having to reach the most remote places,” explains Michel Nandan, Team Principal at Hyundai Motorsport. “It’s the ideal vehicle to support our service team on-event to make sure we have everything we need on the spot. And with cargo space for up to five fully laden Euro pallets, the H350 makes sure we can transport the equipment we need to support our mechanics in the rallies.”
Besides transporting material and tools, Hyundai Motorsport also uses the H350 when it needs to tow the trailers with the rally cars around Europe. Thanks to the powerful 2.5-litre turbo diesel engine with 6-speed transmission and rear-wheel drive, even distant areas are easy to reach with the LCV. And with a gross payload of up to 1,365 kilograms, the team can also utilise the service truck as a flexible multifunctional vehicle for delivering spare parts, tools and wheels.

Designed and built for Europe

The H350 is the first Hyundai LCV in the big van segment in Europe, with manufacturing managed by Hyundai Motor’s partner Karsan in Turkey. Launched in mid-2015, it is already available in ten countries: Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, Poland, Romania, Spain, Switzerland and Turkey. Further market launches are planned throughout 2016, introducing to more European LCV operators the features of the H350: large cargo capacity, ergonomic design and strong performance along with high safety standards, impressive reliability and a competitive total cost of ownership. Plus the reassurance of Hyundai’s three-year unlimited mileage warranty.
The H350 offers a choice of van, bus and chassis cab body types. All three feature an efficient ratio of exterior-to-interior dimensions and cargo space. The long wheelbase model is the only vehicle in the six-metre length class to accommodate five Euro pallets in its 3.665 metre-long cargo bay, which boasts a best-in-class 12.9 cubic metre cargo space. The short wheelbase model can carry four Euro pallets and has a capacity of 10.5 cubic metres.
The H350 is the first truly new challenger in Europe’s big van segment for many years. It’s our first 3.5-tonne LCV and has already been welcomed by customers and businesses across Europe. Throughout the European rounds of this year’s WRC, its abilities will be showcased to an even wider audience.
