Leadership changes within Hyundai in Europe

Hyundai Motor has announced management changes at its European headquarters as well as its German national sales company in Offenbach, Germany. Ulrich Mechau, previously Vice President Sales & Service at Hyundai Motor Europe, will be appointed President & CEO of Hyundai Motor Germany and will succeed Wang Chul (William) Shin who will take on new tasks at Hyundai Motor Company.

I wish to express gratitude to Ulrich Mechau for what he has accomplished in his role with Hyundai Motor in the regional HQ. As he moves onto his new leadership position, I would like to extend best wishes for his future success. I also would like to thank William Shin for his strong dedication during his time as President at Hyundai Motor Germany.

Mechau joined HME as Director of Sales in 2018 and assumed the role of Vice President Sales & Service two years later. During his more than five years at HME, Mechau played a major role in promoting Hyundai’s steady growth across Europe. He will start his new position on 1 February 2024.

I would like to thank Hyundai Motor Europe, especially President & CEO Michael Cole and my team for the strong support and collaboration over the past years. I am very much looking forward to my new role at Hyundai Motor Germany and will do my best to further successfully grow the Hyundai brand in this major European market based on our innovative and sustainable products and services.
