- Hyundai Motor Europe has appointed Mr Jochen Sengpiehl to the role of Vice President Marketing.
Mr Sengpiehl, 46, is responsible for overseeing the company’s long-term pan-European marketing strategy and supporting key business goals, among which are to increase awareness and perceptions of the Hyundai brand among consumers in Europe and to achieve organic sales growth.
Based at the company’s headquarters in Offenbach, Germany, he reports directly to President Byung Kwon Rhim.
Mr Sengpiehl has 20 years’ experience in marketing, including several senior positions in the international automotive sector. At Volkswagen AG he held the role of Senior Vice President Marketing, and was previously Director Marketing Communications at DaimlerChrysler Germany. In addition, he has worked as a senior advisor with Deloitte Strategy Consulting GmbH and founded his own marketing and brand consultancy, working for a number of high-profile businesses.

Under its Product Momentum 2017 initiative, Hyundai Motor will introduce 22 new models and derivatives to Europe in just four years, further enhancing its range and customer appeal. The latest car to be launched is New Generation i20, which made its public debut at the 2014 Paris Motor Show in October and goes on sale across Europe by the end of this year.
