Mocean Subscription has announced it will launch in Germany from the start of November. Part of Hyundai Connected Mobility, the Mocean Subscription strategic expansion reflects the brand’s commitment to delivering flexible mobility solutions aligning with evolving customer expectations.

The German expansion is part of a broader European rollout. The service will provide customers in Germany access to Hyundai’s entire line-up, without the long-term commitment of traditional car ownership.

Mocean Subscription is one of our contributions to the future of mobility. By offering a seamless, hassle-free experience, we are not just meeting evolving customer expectations, but we are paving the way for a more dynamic, customer-centric approach that puts people in the driver’s seat of their own journeys.

Marcus Welz Managing Director of Hyundai Connected Mobility

At launch, customers in Germany will have access to new vehicles, with pre-owned vehicles becoming available in 2025 as well. Hyundai’s products will be available on the platform, to business and private customers, but in case a certain model is not listed, the company will accommodate individual requests. After selecting their vehicle, customers will have it delivered directly to their door within a month.

A digital, streamlined approach to car usership

The automotive industry is witnessing a shift toward usership models, such as subscriptions, carsharing, and ride-hailing, as more consumers move away from traditional ownership and leasing. The Vehicle-as-a-Service (VaaS) solutions, powered by advanced connectivity, offer customers streamlined experiences that integrate into their daily lives.

Today’s customers are increasingly prioritising convenience and connectivity. As a result, mobility is evolving toward usership models like car subscription, reflecting how some people prefer to engage with their vehicles and transportation needs.

Mocean Subscription offers an all-inclusive, low-commitment service where customers can subscribe to a Hyundai vehicle on a flexible basis. Working with certified partners, the entire process – from vehicle selection to delivery – can be managed digitally. Through streamlined and user-friendly operations, customers can choose their subscription duration, schedule repairs, and easily return the vehicle when needed.

The total cost of ownership – including insurance, maintenance, vehicle tax, and roadside assistance – is bundled into a single monthly fee, with customers only responsible for charging or refuelling. With no down payment, subscribers also have the option to swap vehicles every six months to match their changing lifestyles or cancel their subscriptions with just one month’s notice.

As Hyundai Connected Mobility leads in reshaping the mobility landscape, Mocean Subscription marks a significant milestone toward a more connected, customer-centric future. The service is set to make digital-first mobility solutions accessible to a broader audience.
