Why does Europe matter more than ever?

Europe remains a cornerstone of Hyundai’s global strategy. With strong local roots and a clear long-term vision, Hyundai is reinforcing its contribution to sustainable growth, technological leadership and responsible mobility across the region. The brand operates across 42 European countries with a network of over 2,000 sales outlets. Two plants in Türkiye (Izmit) and the Czech Republic (Nošovice) account for almost 80% of Hyundai’s European volume. By combining strong local investments, innovative products and a clear vision for sustainable mobility, Hyundai is creating solutions that truly respond to the needs of European customers, today and for the future.

What investments will Hyundai make in Europe?

Hyundai continues to strengthen its European footprint through targeted local investments across key markets. This includes not only a €150 million investment at the new “Square Campus” at the Hyundai Motor Europe Technical Center in Rüsselsheim, which expands the center with additional 25,000 m² of advanced R&D infrastructure, but also the expansion of advanced testing capabilities at the Nürburgring, and the production of electric vehicles in Türkiye. Together, these initiatives reinforce Hyundai’s long-term commitment to Europe, supporting local expertise, innovation and industrial resilience while accelerating the transition towards sustainable mobility.

What does the future of electric mobility look like?

It is diverse, intelligent and designed around real life. With one of the most complete electric vehicle portfolios on the European market, Hyundai is helping to accelerate the continent’s shift towards zero-emission mobility. From the compact and accessible INSTER to the award-winning IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6, and the flagship IONIQ 9, the brand offers electric solutions tailored to a wide range of lifestyles and mobility needs.

Hyundai is also taking a decisive step further by presenting the new hydrogen-powered NEXO. As one of the very few manufacturers worldwide to bring fuel cell technology to series production, Hyundai positions hydrogen not as a distant vision, but as a real, market-ready pillar of zero-emission mobility. NEXO clearly demonstrates the brand’s long-standing expertise and continued investment in hydrogen as a powerful complement to battery-electric vehicles.

This strong and continuously expanding line-up underlines Hyundai’s ambition to lead Europe’s EV transition with technology that is both innovative and accessible. With a clear ambition to fully electrify its European line-up by 2027, Hyundai continues to set the pace for accessible electric mobility.

What lies beyond the vehicle itself?

Hyundai’s commitment goes far beyond the car. The brand continues to invest in future mobility ecosystems. This includes advancements in energy solutions such as Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) technologies, which turn EVs into active energy assets. Hyundai also invests in robotics innovations through its partnership with Boston Dynamics, advancing robotics for logistics, safety and smart mobility applications. These initiatives underline Hyundai’s ambition to go beyond manufacturing cars and actively shape the future of mobility and energy interaction.
