VIDEO: Tucson to follow
These days, SUVs like the Hyundai Tucson are a staple of urban living, but they are also built to embrace the wild frontiers of off-road driving. It’s with this in mind that Hyundai sent a group of filmmakers all the way to South Africa to drive one of them through Kruger National Park, which covers an area of 19,485 square kilometres and features an almost unparalleled number of exotic animals including elephants, lions, rhinos and giraffes.
Along the way, the filmmakers encountered a baby wildebeest, which started following the Tucson. One of the passengers speculated that it may have lost its mother, and it even appeared to mistake the vehicle for her parent. Eventually, after seven kilometres, the wildebeest sprinting towards a much bigger creature. Thanks to the Hyundai Tucson, she managed to find her mother, and you can watch this in the 'Tucson to follow' video below:

Why the Hyundai Tucson is perfect for going off-road
The Hyundai Tucson boasts a distinctive, dynamic and sleek design which is cited by customers as the number one reason for purchase. It boasts a range of advanced technology that helps make off-road driving as smooth as possible. Its all-wheel drive system was developed by Hyundai in conjunction with Magna Powertrain, and features the driver-selectable All-Wheel Drive Lock, which allows a differentiated torque split between front and rear wheels. This enables greater traction off-road and on the slippery road conditions drivers face in rain, snow and icy conditions.
This system also features Active Cornering Control, which automatically transfers torque to the wheels with the most traction. This again increases performance in off-road and slippery road scenarios by reducing understeer and enhancing cornering capabilities by braking the inside rear wheel and delivering more torque to the outside rear wheel. This delivers a big boost in handling and all-weather drivability.
An integrated Rear View Camera with dynamic guidelines comes with the Tucson as standard. This provides additional safety for drivers while reversing and feeds to the touchscreen display. Rear parking sensors are also available to make backing up easier. Meanwhile, sensors in the rear bumper give an audible warning that increases in frequency and tone as drivers get closer to objects in the area behind the vehicle. This can prove particularly useful when venturing in unfamiliar terrain.
