Hyundai Motor UK achieved one of its strongest-ever annual sales performances in 2025, recording over 93,100 vehicle sales – an increase of more than 1,000 units over 2024. The newest figures propelled Hyundai from the 9th to 6th biggest-selling car brand in the UK, capturing 4.6% of the overall car market. The TUCSON retained its position as Hyundai's best-selling model, accounting for 31% of all sales.

The brand's electrification strategy continued to deliver results, with alternative fuel vehicles representing 58% of total Hyundai sales last year. Electric vehicle sales grew by over 10%, with the KONA Electric leading the charge as Hyundai's best-selling EV, making up 45% of all electric vehicle registrations. The all-new INSTER made an immediate impact following its launch in May, accounting for 18% of all EV registrations despite not recording a full year of sales.

The Hyundai Electric Car Grant was launched in July 2025, and this continues into 2026. The grant provides customers with immediate savings across the entire EV lineup, including £3,750 off the award-winning INSTER and £1,500 off all other Hyundai EVs, including KONA Electric, IONIQ 5, IONIQ 6, IONIQ 5 N and IONIQ 9.

Hyundai's comprehensive model range has also garnered exceptional recognition throughout 2025, winning 30 prestigious awards across multiple categories. Notable accolades included the all-new INSTER being named 2025 World Electric Vehicle and Supermini of the Year at the 2026 TopGear.com Awards, the IONIQ 9 crowned Comfortable Cruiser of the Year at the Carwow Car of the Year Awards, and the IONIQ 5 N receiving the coveted 'Five-Star Car' award from Autocar.

Despite a complex landscape in 2025, Hyundai continues to deliver growth year-over-year solidifying our strong position within the UK marketplace. But we will not be complacent – in an ever-increasing market our product offering must continue to be desirable and relevant and enhancing our customer perceptions is key. 2026 will, therefore, have plenty more to come!
