What makes STARIA Cargo a strong proposition in the electric LCV segment?
STARIA Cargo combines Hyundai’s established EV technology with capabilities developed around professional use. Its proposition is centred on five areas that directly influence everyday commercial operation:
- Range
- Charging speed
- Cargo capability
- Performance
- Driver assistance
How fast can STARIA Cargo charge?
Charging speed is a critical factor for LCV users. STARIA Cargo features an 800-volt electrical architecture, enabling the battery to charge from 10 to 80 percent in just 20 minutes under optimal DC ultra-fast charging conditions. This sets a benchmark in the electric LCV segment. Combined with STARIA Cargo’s strong driving range, it minimises downtime and helps businesses maximise productivity. For depot and overnight charging, an 11 kW AC onboard charger is ideal for everyday use.
How does STARIA Cargo support demanding professional use?
STARIA Cargo is launching as an N1-homologated three-seater panel van, combining generous cargo capacity with convenient access. It offers a payload of 1,040 kg, a 2,000 kg braked towing capacity and space for three Euro pallets.
Double sliding side doors provide access from both sides, while rear access and a low loading height simplify loading and unloading in everyday operation. A steel partition separates the cabin from the load compartment, while wide-opening rear doors provide easy access to the cargo area.
Designed for professional applications, STARIA Cargo delivers robust performance under load. Its electric drivetrain ensures quiet operation and reduced vibration, contributing to improved driver comfort during long working hours and frequent stop-and-go driving.
Hyundai also offers STARIA Cargo with a three-year warranty package, providing professional customers with additional coverage and greater predictability over the vehicle’s initial years in service.
What upfitting options does STARIA Cargo offer?
Hyundai is working with upfitting partners to deliver conversion solutions tailored to the needs of local business customers across Europe. Looking ahead, Hyundai is also exploring standardized conversion solutions that could be offered through Hyundai retailers across multiple European markets, providing customers with a more consistent and convenient experience. More information will be communicated in the future.
What level of performance does STARIA Cargo offer?
STARIA Cargo is powered by a 160 kW (218 PS) electric motor. Combined with its 350 Nm torque output, STARIA Cargo delivers confident performance in both urban and motorway environments.
Its maximum speed of up to 184 km/h (where appropriate) further underlines its strong driving performance. Derived from the STARIA passenger vehicle architecture, the panel van also provides passenger car-like drivability and comfort.
STARIA Cargo's capabilities extend beyond speed and acceleration. Designed for demanding professional use, it combines load-carrying and towing capabilities with the smooth, refined characteristics of an electric powertrain. Even when carrying heavy cargo or towing a trailer, it delivers confident performance, responsive acceleration and passenger car-like comfort. Notably, STARIA Cargo is technically permitted to tow up to 2,000 kg even when carrying its maximum payload of 1,040 kg, providing exceptional flexibility for professional users.
How does STARIA Cargo support safety and driver confidence?
STARIA Cargo features a comprehensive suite of Hyundai SmartSense safety and advanced driver assistance systems designed to support confident operation across all situations. Systems include Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Following Assist, Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, a rear-view camera and front and rear parking sensors – all standard equipment.
What role will STARIA Cargo play at the Paris Motor Show?
STARIA Cargo will be presented during the Paris Motor Show press day, giving media the opportunity to experience Hyundai's new fully electric LCV first-hand.
When will STARIA Cargo be available?
STARIA Cargo will be available in the second half of 2026 depending on market.
