Hyundai’s position as a leader in company car-friendly vehicles has been reinforced once again, with the IONIQ named Company Car Today’s PHEV of the Year in the annual CCT100 list.

The expert writers and contributors of Company Car Today assessed all plug-in hybrids on sale today for their emissions, price, running costs, practicality, desirability and driving experience, before naming IONIQ Plug-in Hybrid their favourite.

The IONIQ line-up, which also includes Hybrid and fully Electric variants was updated in mid-2019, giving IONIQ Plug-in Hybrid an impressive total driving range of up to 660 miles, including up to 39 miles of zero-emissions electric power. That places it in the 11% Benefit in Kind tax bracket for company car drivers, which is among the lowest on the road.

Hyundai’s plug-in hybrid IONIQ has retained the Company Car Today CCT100 PHEV of the Year award thanks to its efficiency, practicality and excellent running costs. Used as intended, PHEVs have an important role to play in reducing emissions and business travel cost, as well as educating drivers about electric vehicle technology, and the IONIQ does that while also proving itself to be a sensible and cost-efficient choice.

Hyundai is one of the UK’s largest providers of electrified vehicles, offering fleet customers a host of excellent value, generously specified premium vehicles. What’s more Hyundai offers its business customers an industry leading Fleet Aftersales Charter that offers a consistently outstanding experience for fleet customers, setting out transparent pricing and processes. Hyundai’s 360 Workshop Automation makes fleet maintenance easy and efficient, offering the industry’s quickest online service booking system (six steps and 10 seconds to complete), live progress tracking of vehicle maintenance and personalised communications.

The IONIQ Plug-in Hybrid is joined by IONIQ Hybrid and Electric, alongside other electrified – and fleet-friendly – Hyundai models like the Kona Hybrid and Kona Electric, all-new Tucson Hybrid, NEXO Fuel Cell Vehicle, and the Santa Fe Hybrid and Santa Fe Plug-in Hybrid (which will go on sale in the next few months).

And Hyundai’s electrified offering is only set to grow. The IONIQ brand has now been born and signifies the forthcoming launch of a range of dedicated fully electric models built upon the new e-GMP platform. IONIQ 5, a midsize CUV, will be unveiled early this year; IONIQ 6 based on the acclaimed ‘Prophecy’ concept will follow; and then IONIQ 7, a large SUV in 2024.

Success in the demanding world of company car drivers doesn’t come easily, but we’re glad to see the industry continues to recognise the work that we’ve put into our product line-up and our B2B offerings. To be at the top of the CCT100 PHEV rankings for three years in a row with IONIQ is a clear indication of how advanced our line-up is; nothing has yet managed to topple it despite a whole host of new PHEVs on the market. Congratulations to our dedicated fleet team, who have tirelessly improved our products, our customer experience and our aftersales systems for fleet users.
