Hyundai IONIQ 5 continues to receive further accolades with another endorsement from YouTube’s biggest automotive channel – carwow.

Following a series of in-depth tests by the carwow team, Hyundai’s IONIQ 5 has been bestowed with a ‘Buy It’ award for 2023.  Only 18 cars of the hundreds tested have received the carwow seal of approval providing a strong endorsement for consumers in the market to buy a new car.

When I was a kid I wanted every car to look like the Hyundai IONIQ 5. This car is one of the most eye-catching on sale, but there’s so much more to its talents than those head-turning looks. It’s comfortable, there’s loads of space for passengers and luggage and the IONIQ 5 has plenty of clever technology. It deserves the big success it’s achieving and shows what a roll Hyundai is on with its newest cars.

Mat Watson carwow’s Chief Content Officer

Since its launch over 12 months ago, IONIQ 5 has quickly become one of the most recognised Hyundai models of all time, garnering a number of prestigious award wins from across the industry including World Car of the Year, World EV of the Year and UK Car of the Year. It has solidified Hyundai’s position as one of the leading EV manufacturers and heralds the beginning of a new EV era for the Company.

Over a year on and IONIQ 5 is still receiving recognition for its the eye-catching design, technology and customer-centric package. This latest award from Mat and team at carwow is a great endorsement for the IONIQ 5 and for our Brand as we move forward to an all-electric future and there’s plenty more to come.

Ashley Andrew Managing Director, Hyundai Motor UK

The IONIQ 5’s compelling credentials see a series of enhancements for the 2023 model year. The introduction of a 77kWH battery pack has seen the potential range extend to up to 315 miles (on the WLTP cycle), and power increase to 325PS – an 11PS rise over the previous 72.6 kWh battery. A new battery heating and conditioning feature is also now standard across the range to enable more consistent charging, while handling and ride comfort have been upgraded thanks to the addition of smart frequency dampers to improve the response of the front and rear suspension.
