How Is Hyundai Motor Enhancing the EV Experience at the Nürburgring?
Strategically located at the Tourist Drive entrance, the N Hyper Chargers mark Hyundai’s first ultra-fast charging station within the Nürburgring complex. By bringing ultra-fast charging directly to the circuit, Hyundai Motor ensures drivers can recharge rapidly and return to the action immediately. This infrastructure upgrade underscores Hyundai Motor’s commitment to preserving the thrill of driving even in the electrified era, guaranteeing uninterrupted track enjoyment for all.
What Are the Capabilities of the N Hyper Chargers?
The new installation is designed for speed and efficiency. Driver benefits include:
- Simultaneous Charging: The facility features two units with four charging points, allowing up to four vehicles to charge at once.
- Ultra-Fast Speeds: With a maximum 400-kW DC output, an IONIQ 5 N and IONIQ 6 N can go from 10 percent to 80 percent state of charge (SoC) in approximately 18 minutes (*under ideal conditions).
- Open Access: The N Hyper Chargers are accessible to all brands of EV models.
The N Hyper Chargers began pilot operations on March 14, 2026 to ensure drivers have immediate access for the new track season. Following a service optimization phase, complimentary charging for IONIQ 5 N and IONIQ 6 N owners will commence in April via the Charge myHyundai mobile application in Europe.
How Does This Fit Into Hyundai N’s Electrification Strategy?
This initiative is a key step in Hyundai Motor’s roadmap to create a complete performance ecosystem for the EV era. Following the installation of its first fast-charging station for high-performance EVs at Inje Speedium in Korea in 2023, the company is now expanding its global high‑performance charging infrastructure at the Nürburgring – the very track that inspired the N brand.
