More than 42,000 readers of the renowned German trade magazine Auto Bild voted in the poll for "The Best Brands in All Classes”. The focus was on the characteristics that make a brand strong: quality, design, and value for money. The Hyundai i10, which is currently in its third generation, won in the “Price/Performance” category in the A-segment with 67 per cent of the votes. This is the fifth time that the city car has taken first place in this category in Auto Bild’s readers’ poll. Of the 14 total categories, 37 brands were evaluated.

Once again, this award proves that our commitment to the A-segment remains spot on. The production of the i10 facelift begins this month, evolving into an even sportier, more attractive design, with advanced safety and connectivity solutions. I am convinced that the revised i10 will meet our customers’ expectations.

Updated i10 even more dynamic

The updated i10 has undergone a design upgrade both inside and out. Compared with the third-generation model that was released in 2020 and won in the Auto Bild readers’ poll, the enhanced version drives forward even more dynamically. Additionally, several smart technologies otherwise found in the higher vehicle segments are available in the updated i10: a standard 4.2-inch LCD cluster, USB-C ports in the front and rear, second-generation eCall, and Over-the-Air (OTA) updates for enhanced driver and passenger convenience. The OTA updates allow customers to update their navigation maps and infotainment system via the cellular network, saving customers a trip to the service centre. The Hyundai Bluelink® telematics system allows the driver to connect to the in-vehicle infotainment system via an app and provides real-time information on fuel and parking costs.

Improved safety as standard

The new i10 also received an upgrade on its available Hyundai Smart Sense safety features. In addition to the previous ‘Pedestrian’ detection, Hyundai has added ‘Cyclist’ detection to the autonomous emergency braking assistant, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA). Lane Following Assist (LFA) keeps the vehicle in its lane of travel through active steering intervention. Rear Occupant Alert (ROA) warns against accidentally leaving smaller passengers or animals in the rear seat when exiting the vehicle.
