The Hyundai i10 has scored a hat-trick in 2018 What Car? Used Car Awards, achieving two age-group wins, as well as scooping the overall ‘Best Used City Car’ award.
The current i10 was recognised as the best used city car at one-to-three years old, while the previous-generation model was named winner in the seven-to-10 years category. As well as being lauded as a used car, the Hyundai i10 has been consistently recognised as the best new city car you can buy, with four consecutive wins in the What Car? Car of the Year Awards.
We’re huge fans of the Hyundai i10, as evidenced by the fact that it’s one of our favourite new city cars. However, it makes an even better case for itself as a used buy, offering a long manufacturer’s warranty that most rivals can’t match, together with proven reliability and very reasonable prices. Throw in the characteristics we’ve grown to love over the years – its space, comfort, sense of quality and engaging driving dynamics – and you have a particularly compelling used city car, and a worthy winner of our award.
The Hyundai i10 is one of the roomiest and most refined models in the A-segment, with levels of convenience and safety equipment commonly only found in B- or C-segment cars. Luxurious equipment available includes steering wheel-mounted cruise control with adjustable speed limiter, a heated leather steering wheel and heated front seats, Smart Key with engine start/stop button, and automatic climate control.
The i10 is still one of our best-selling models when new, and this award shows that those who buy a used example are also getting the best city car for their money. To have not one but two generations of the same model recognised in these awards is a remarkable achievement, and is testament to the i10’s many attributes, notably its value-for-money, clever packaging and low running costs.
The i10 comes as standard with Hyundai’s 5 Year Unlimited Mileage Warranty. The industry-best package also includes five years of roadside assistance and five years of vehicle health checks.
