Hyundai’s leadership in electrification has been recognised again as it is named EV Brand of the Year at the 2025 Electrifying.com Awards. It’s the latest accolade for Hyundai in a year that has seen its comprehensive line-up of cutting-edge electric models pick up a series of prestigious prizes.
Electrifying.com has established itself as one of the UK’s leading automotive buying guides since its launch four years ago, and its annual awards are a celebration of the electric vehicles and innovations that its expert team believe represent a significant achievement in this fast-moving area of the market.
Hyundai received the coveted EV Brand of the Year title on account of the quality and versatility offered by its range of models, with judges praising the wide choice available across the board.
We believe Hyundai is the only brand that offers a range of high-quality electric cars that appeal to buyers across the entire market spectrum. There’s an EV for everyone in Hyundai’s line-up – from the great value-for-money INSTER to its forthcoming seven-seat SUV, along with cars that appeal to both family and business drivers alike. Topping its range is the brilliantly fun IONIQ 5 N, which has redefined the concept of performance car driving in the electric era. Hyundai’s leadership in electric cars shines through when you look at the breadth of its model line-up, and it’s a worthy winner of our EV Brand of the Year.
Hyundai’s current range of EVs comprises an array of serial award-winners. The Hyundai IONIQ 5 (starting from £39,900) set the ball rolling in 2022, when it claimed a significant treble success, being crowned World Car of the Year, World Electric Vehicle of the Year and World Car Design of the Year. It was followed in 2023 by the sleek Hyundai IONIQ 6 (from £47,040), which netted the same three titles.
The Hyundai KONA Electric (from £34,995) arrived in style in 2023 by collecting the Auto Express Car of the Year award, following it up in 2024 with WhatCar?’s Best Small Electric SUV for Families.
And over the past 12 months, the high-performance IONIQ 5 N (from £65,000) has achieved an incredible run of success, with its focus on setting new standards for EV driving enjoyment bringing a series of honours. Highlights include being crowned 2024 World Performance Car in the World Car Awards, TopGear.com’s overall 2023 Car of the Year, Best Performance Car of 2024 by both Autocar and Auto Express, and The Sunday Times’ Hot Hatch of the Year.
With huge anticipation for the forthcoming INSTER small SUV (from £23,495), which is currently generating plenty of interest in a roadshow of retailers across the UK, and more models to come, the future looks exceptionally bright, too.
Hyundai has transformed itself into a true electrification leader with some wonderfully desirable electric cars that appeal to a wide range of customers. It has been very gratifying to be named EV Brand of the Year by the experts at Electrifying.com, but also have our efforts recognised by buyers, too, with our most recent monthly sales figures for full EVs growing at twice the rate of the market year-on-year. And the really exciting thing is that there are even more great electric models on the way.
