Now available in N Line trim, the Tucson N Line features exterior elements inspired by Hyundai’s N range of high-performance models. N Line enhancements include bespoke front and rear bumpers and dark grilles, plus 19-inch alloy wheels, bespoke door mirror housings and a rear spoiler finished in gloss black. Revised powertrains for better performance
The Tucson is powered by two diesel and two petrol engines. All of them are lighter that predecessor powertrains, which improves CO2 emissions. Additionally, the Tucson is the first Hyundai to be available with a 48-volt hybrid powertrain. The Tucson’s mild hybrid technology offers better economy with reduced CO2 emissions and additional torque providing better performance.
The most powerful engine in the line-up is the 2.0-litre 48-volt hybrid diesel engine with an output of 137 kW / 185 PS, which is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission (8AT). This high-performance engine comes with Hyundai’s four-wheel drive system called HTRAC. It is equipped with a differential lock that can distribute torque evenly between the front and rear wheels.
Customers can also choose between the newly developed Smartstream 1.6-litre 48-volt hybrid diesel engine with two power outputs: the standard version is capable of 85 kW / 115 PS and the higher power version offers 100 kW / 136 PS. Both engines are available with a 6MT and front-wheel drive. For the higher-power version Hyundai offers a 7-speed dual clutch transmission (7DCT) as an option.
The Tucson is also available with two petrol engines. The 1.6-litre GDI with a 6MT and front-wheel drive generates 97 kW / 132 PS. Delivering up to 130 kW / 177 PS, the 1.6-litre T-GDI is competitive in its segment in terms of power and performance. It can be mated to a 6MT or a 7DCT, both available with front-wheel drive). The entire engine line-up of Tucson meets the Euro 6d Temp emission standards, resulting in improved fuel efficiency by minimising drivetrain friction losses.
