Its new design accents, as well as sharp and elegant lines, strengthen the character of the progressive C-SUV and make its styling even more appealing. The sporty exterior design is accented by the new Cascading Grille and light signature with full LED headlights, which give the car a high-tech image. Furthermore, an enhanced front bumper, skid plate and updated wheel design complement the Tucson’s exterior appearance. The car is also equipped with new rear taillights as well as a redesigned rear bumper and exhaust tail pipe. With an outstanding combination of generous interior space, a highly-ergonomic interior, and a wide range of advanced powertrains, the new Tucson meets and exceeds customer expectations.

Revised powertrains for better performance

The new Tucson is powered by two diesel and two petrol engines. All of them are lighter that predecessor powertrains, which improves CO2 emissions. Additionally, the new Tucson is the first Hyundai to be available with a mild hybrid 48 V powertrain. The new mild hybrid offers better economy with reduced CO2 emissions and additional torque providing better performance.

The most powerful engine in the line-up is the 2.0-litre diesel engine with an output of 137 kW / 185 PS, which is paired with the newly-developed 8-speed automatic transmission (8AT). This high-performance engine comes with Hyundai’s four-wheel drive system called HTRAC. It is equipped with a differential lock that can distribute torque evenly between the front and rear wheels.

Customers can also choose between the newly developed Smartstream 1.6-litre diesel engine with two power outputs: the standard version is capable of 85 kW / 115 PS and the higher power version offers 100 kW / 136 PS. Both engines are available with a 6MT and front-wheel drive. For the higher-power version Hyundai offers a 7-speed dual clutch transmission (7DCT) as an option.

The new Tucson is also available with two petrol engines. The 1.6-litre GDI with a 6MT and front-wheel drive generates 97 kW / 132 PS. Delivering up to 130 kW / 177 PS, the 1.6-litre T-GDI is competitive in its segment in terms of power and performance. It can be mated to a 6MT or a 7DCT, both available with front-wheel drive). The entire engine line-up of new Tucson meets the Euro 6d Temp emission standards, resulting in improved fuel efficiency by minimising drivetrain friction losses.
