Context

The automotive industry is becoming a smart mobility ecosystem with connectivity at its root. Smart mobility unlocks a host of opportunities for both OEMs and value-added service creators. At the same time, it brings with it a range of cybersecurity risks that never existed in the past. Connectivity opens the doors for hackers to remotely penetrate a car and potentially create damage that can spam multiple vehicles at the same time.

The technology

  • C4 (Centralized Connected Car Cybersecurity) Platform
  • Data-driven and is deployed in the Automotive Cloud
  • Dashboard provides real-time vehicle security health and alerts when threats are detected
  • Features: 1) protocol security that detect automotive threats within vehicle server 2) transactional analytics to detect communication patterns and sequence anomalies 3) contextual security that detects anomalies within current status, and 4) behavioural security that detects anomalies in driver, vehicle and fleet behaviour

How it works

Data collected > Data sent to Upstream > Data anonymization > Data normalization > Cybersecurity layers > Detection of fleet policy violations > Real-time violation alerts on dashboard > Incident investigation workbench > reporting

The entire process is controlled and monitored by Upstream C4 platform or via SOC integration

Status

Technology is able to target markets including vehicle manufacturers, tier 1, car rental, car sharing, telematics, commercial fleets, insurance, autonomous fleets, and more.
