During the first weeks of 2018, Hyundai Motor has already received nine different awards from influential organisations in Europe.
Honoured by renowned European media and the iF Design association, Hyundai is continuing the successful results of its award-winning year in 2017. The i30 five-door, the i30 N, the i30 Fastback and the All-New Kona have been recognised for their design and performance. In addition, the IONIQ range and the All-New Kona Electric have received international recognition for their innovative character – the latter even ahead of its official unveiling.
Winning so many awards demonstrates how Hyundai products are convincing not only consumers but also influential experts in the industry and media. With more new product launches ahead of us, 90 percent of our line-up will be younger than two years by the middle of 2018, as we continue to expand our range in line with customer needs.

Five awards for Hyundai i30: All taken care of

In line with the slogan of its marketing campaign, “All taken care of”, the i30 range has received four awards in the opening weeks of 2018. The i30 five-door was named ‘Car of the Year 2018’ by the readership of the Spanish national newspaper La Vanguardia and publishing group Editorial Prensa Ibérica. In the United Kingdom, the i30 N won three different prizes. First, it achieved the ‘Life and Seoul of the Party Award’ at the GQ Car Awards 2018, being described as a “ferociously fun five-door rocket ship”. At the UK Car of the Year Awards 2018, the i30 N came out on top in the category ‘Best Hot Hatch’. The judges praised its bold entry into the segment as well as its style, specification and fun-to-drive character. What Car? also recognised the i30 N as one of the winners of the 2018 What Car? Awards in the ‘Hot Hatch’ category. Meanwhile, the eye-catching i30 Fastback earned the internationally esteemed iF Design Award in the Automobiles/Vehicles category for its elegant appearance which combines sports coupe proportions with everyday practicality.

Two awards for the brand’s first sub-compact SUV

With the launch of the All-New Kona on the market in late 2017, the brand entered the fastest-growing segment in the European automotive industry. Turbo Magazine, one of the most prestigious specialist magazines in Portugal, named Hyundai’s first B-SUV the ‘Best Crossover of the Year’. The Kona also received a further iF Design Award in the Automobiles/Vehicles category for its distinctive design.
Further recognition for Hyundai’s zero-emission products came when the IONIQ Electric ranked first among the 105 vehicles tested in the 2017 ADAC EcoTest. Meanwhile, the All-New NEXO gained the Editor’s Choice award of Reviewed.com during this year’s CES in Las Vegas: The team of editors chose the hydrogen-powered SUV for bringing cutting-edge technology to a wider audience.
Furthermore, the Hyundai i10 kicked off the New Year being named the ‘Best Import Car 2017’ according to the evaluation of German automotive magazine Auto Bild when assessing the small car segment.
