i30 N and i30 Fastback N recognised with sports car awards

The i30 Fastback N was granted the title “Auto Bild Sports Car of the Year” this month, just days after the i30 N won the “Sport Auto Award” by the magazine Sport Auto. The i30 N was also the 2018 winner of the “Auto Bild Sports Car of the Year” award.
i30 Fastback N recognised as “Auto Bild Sports Car of the Year”
The "Auto Bild Sports Cars" is a reader’s choice award by the top German car magazine Auto Bild. This year, 110 cars competed for the winning title at the 18th annual “Auto Bild Sports Cars of the Year” award. The candidates came from the test and driving reports of the past twelve months. Each model was classified into five categories, with winners for the sub-categories of Series, Import and Tuning. The Hyundai i30 Fastback N took home the prize in the category Small & Compact Cars, sub-category Import. It won against 13 other cars.
The award is further proof that our fans, the ‘N-thusiasts’, love the sportiness of the i30 Fastback N. With the i30 Fastback N, we are proud to be able to offer a compact sports car that enjoys a high level of credibility in the performance car scene.
The market launch of the i30 N took place in 2017. Since 2018, the sporty, compact car has been available as the i30 N, both with a hatchback body and as the Fastback model. The "N" in the model designation stands for the Hyundai Research and Development Centre in Namyang, South Korea. In addition, the Nürburgring’s Nordschleife (North Loop) is the second home of all N high-performance models. The vehicles regularly prove their sporting suitability as basic vehicles for endurance races or for use in touring car racing and have already clinched numerous class and race victories.
i30 N takes home prestigious “Sport Auto Award”
In November, the Hyundai i30 N was recognised with the “Sport Auto Award,” a reader’s choice award by the trade magazine Sport Auto. The hot hatch won the category “Compact Cars for up to €35,000” in the sub-category “Import”, beating out the competition out of a total of 275 cars. One of Hyundai’s most popular high-performance models, the i30 N has sold over 4,500 units since its launch in autumn 2017 alone.
The Sport Auto Award proves once again that Hyundai also offers the right products for sporty drivers. Our limited edition i30 N Project C, presented at the IAA, is also highly coveted even before its market launch.
19-inch wheels and electronic differential lock as standard
In 2017, Hyundai first impressed the fans of sporty compact cars with the i30 N. In the meantime, the output has risen from 184 kW/250 hp to 202 kW/275 hp. The chassis has also been further optimised for dynamic use. The Hyundai i30 N now features 19-inch wheels and an electronic differential lock as standard.
High performance at attractive prices
The Hyundai i30 N is not only an extremely agile, compact car, it also wins drivers over with its unique characteristics. A test report of the "Sport Auto" from spring 2019 confirmed this with the statement, "the two-litre is one of the best of its kind". Meanwhile, its handling was described as “nothing less than a masterpiece".
A winning streak for Hyundai
The Hyundai i30 Fastback N and i30 N have received their share of awards and accolades in the years since their launches. In 2018, the i30 N was named “Auto Bild Sports Car of the Year” in the Small & Compact Car category, prevailing over seven established import competitors. It also received positive reviews at the Paris Motor Show and was described as a “game changer” at the 2018 Autocar awards.
In addition, in 2018 Hyundai was named BBC TopGear Magazine’s Manufacturer of the Year.
