Hyundai Motor looks forward to the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™

As the New Year gets under way, many of us will approach the next 365 days with the usual set of hopes and aspirations: get fitter, earn more money, be happier. For football fans, however, 2018 is one of those special years that’s guaranteed to bring maximum enjoyment. That’s right – this summer it’s the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™, and as the official automotive sponsor, Hyundai Motor can’t wait for kick-off.
The draw took place at the start of December, in the spectacular setting of the Kremlin. To remind you of how it unfolded, here’s how the 32 teams will line up:
Group A: Russia, Uruguay, Egypt, Saudi Arabia
Group B: Portugal, Spain, Iran, Morocco
Group C: France, Peru, Denmark, Australia
Group D: Argentina, Croatia, Iceland, Nigeria
Group E: Brazil, Switzerland, Costa Rica, Serbia
Group F: Germany, Mexico, Sweden, South Korea
Group G: Belgium, England, Tunisia, Panama
Group H: Poland, Colombia, Senegal, Japan
As as official partner of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™, Hyundai Motor is celebrating a special summer of football with the fantastic Go! Special Editions.
If the opening match between hosts Russia and minnows Saudi Arabia (taking place in Moscow’s Luzhniki Stadium on 14 June) doesn’t quite set your pulse racing, the group stages have thrown up plenty of matches to look forward to, with no-one having an easy path to the third round. Holders Germany, along with perennial superstars Brazil, are the early bookmakers favourites, with regular contenders Spain and France not far behind.
From a Hyundai perspective, Group E is of particular interest, with Germany – home to Hyundai Motor Europe – set to face South Korea - where Hyundai Motor’s global headquarters are based - in Kazan on 27 June. European clashes between Portugal and Spain in Sochi on 15 June and Belgium and England in Kaliningrad on 28 June should also be exciting, with plucky Iceland – who did so well to beat England en route to the Euro 2016 quarter-finals – joining Argentina, Croatia and Nigeria in what many pundits have identified as one of the competition's toughest groups.
No matter who you'll be supporting, with Hyundai as official partner of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™, everybody wins. Hyundai is celebrating its passion for football and life with the fantastic Go!
