Press material

Hyundai Motor took part in the Earth Hour by turning off the lights for one hour at its European headquarter in Offenbach on March 24, 2018.
Earth Hour is a global climate change initiative organised by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) that Hyundai is supporting for the fifth consecutive year.
Participation in the Earth Hour engagement shows our care and concern for the environment. We invest into a zero-emission society and promote a cleaner future by offering the widest range of alternative powertrains. Already with the current eco-models, IONIQ, Kona Electric and NEXO, Hyundai offers a number of zero emission solutions. And, by 2021 60% of the brand’s line-up in Europe will be available as eco cars.

From Madrid to Moscow with the Kona Electric

By switching off the electricity, Hyundai saved in one average hour as much electric energy as it would be needed for driving the Hyundai Kona Electric from Madrid to Moscow, a journey of approximately 4.000 kilometres.
Since 2007 the Earth Hour promotes the protection of the environment and climate. Taking place every year, the initiative receives support from global brands, governments and thousands of people around the globe. This year the Earth Hour points to the extinction of species that is currently happening.
