Europe’s innovative school students awarded Hyundai cars

As part of its Skills for the Future programme, Hyundai Motor Europe is donating cars to students at technical schools that have shown innovative skills in the last year.
The prize cars are being donated to the 2015 competition-winning vocational schools in France, Italy, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and Spain. The cars will be used to support the education of young people in the fields of science, technology and engineering and in workshop classes to develop students’ practical and theoretical knowledge.
Hyundai Motor started the car donation programme in 2012 as one element of its Skills for the Future educational initiative. Focused on Europe, it nurtures entrepreneurial spirit and encourages students to create ideas-driven mini-companies while still at school, improving their employment prospects when they begin their careers.

As part of our commitment to Europe, its citizens and its future, we want to identify and support bright, talented school students who will surely go forward to become contributors to the future economy of the region. Our Skills for the Future programme helps to improve the employability of students in the automotive industry and beyond, by putting them on the path to productive and rewarding future careers.
The schools which are receiving Hyundai cars in 2015 are: GARAC (France), ITIS Feltrinelli (Italy), Automotive School Complex Torun (Poland), Colegiul Tehnic Mecanic Grivita (Romania), Technicka Academia (Slovakia), Secondary Vocational & Technical School Bezigrad (Slovenia), and CIFP Professor Raul Vazquez (Spain).
Skills for the Future was launched by Hyundai Motor in 2012 and is run in partnership with Junior Achievement-Young Enterprise (JA-YE) Europe. Currently, schools in 15 countries are taking part in the programme and 30 schools entered the 2015 car donation competition. This year’s winning schools were chosen by a judging panel based on their evaluation of a motivation submission from each entrant.
