Our mission is to enable the wide scale adoption of sustainable hydrogen fuel by introducing a novel water splitting technology
The context
As hydrogen technology advances and fuel cell vehicles gain importance, one of the challenges that remains is how to extract hydrogen for fuel in a way that is efficient, affordable and safe. H2Pro is working on a novel water-splitting technology to produce hydrogen economically.
The technology
E-TAC (Electrochemical, Thermally Activated Chemical) is a revolutionary method for splitting water. Similar to electrolysis, E-TAC uses electricity to split water into hydrogen and oxygen. However, unlike conventional electrolysis, hydrogen and oxygen are generated separately at different phases - an Electrochemical phase and a Thermally Activated Chemical phase. This results in improved power consumption (3.6 kWh/Nm3 less power loss) and a high hydrogen production pressure (100 bar).
H2Pro has demonstrated a semi-automated process and is working towards higher production capabilities and automated process.
