Performance

Drivers of the All-New Kona Electric can choose from two different powertrain versions. The long-range version with the 64 kWh battery provides a range of up to 470km*. The electric motor delivers an output of 150kW (204 PS), accelerating the Kona Electric to 100 km/h in just 7.6 seconds. With a battery capacity of 39 kWh, the basic version runs for up to 300km* on a single charge, with the motor delivering 99 kW (135 PS). Both powertrain versions deliver 395 Nm of immediate torque, offering the Kona Electric driver great fun-to-drive, with full torque available from stand still. Located in the front of the vehicle, the charging port is easy to access. Connected to a 100kW fast charger, the 64 kWh battery pack can be charged up to 80% in only 54 minutes. With the 7.2 kW OBC, the shorter-range battery can be re-charged with alternating current (AC) in 6 hours 10 minutes and the long-range battery in 9 hours 40 minutes.

Design

The All-New Kona Electric inherits the same expressive design and ‘go-anywhere’ attitude of the standard Kona. The characteristic design element of the front are the composite lights, available with full LED technology. Unique to the All-New Kona Electric is the closed grille which gives the front a clean and modern appearance. The dedicated 17” alloy wheels are aerodynamically optimised, combining efficiency and design. In addition, customers can choose from 21 different colour combinations to tailor the look of the car to their personal style.

Tech

The All-New Kona Electric features a dedicated centre console which incorporates the shift-by-wire module. The new seven-inch supervision cluster informs the driver about the system’s status. It displays among others the battery’s charge state and the energy flow between powertrain components. In addition, the combiner type head-up display projects all of the relevant driving information directly into the driver’s line of sight. The paddle shifts behind the steering wheel allow the driver to select the level of regenerative braking. With Smart Cruise Control, the All-New Kona Electric automatically regulates the accelerating and braking of the car. Customers can also choose their Kona Electric with an optional eight-inch navigation system featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the KRELL Premium Sound system.

Safety

The All-New Kona Electric offers all the active safety features of the standard Kona to comply with the highest European safety standards. In addition, it can be equipped with the Intelligent Speed Limit Warning to identify road speed signs and the new Lane Following Assist, which helps the driver to keep the vehicle in the centre of the lane. Another new safety feature is the radar-based Smart Cruise Control system with Stop & Go. It automatically regulates the accelerating and braking performance, providing a comfortable and convenient driving experience.
